American Express launches Serve mobile wallets for Sprint customers

American Express has entered into a partnership with Sprint to offer mobile customers an access to ServeSM, a recently launched digital payment platform from American Express. It is the first relationship with a mobile carrier since the service launch in March.

Now Sprint customers will be able to use Serve mobile wallet application on their select Android-based smartphones. Sprint customers with these devices can find Sprint Zone, which also provides Sprint account information, recommends apps and more, as an icon on their Sprint mobile device.

At an event in New York a mobile phone maker Motorola unveiled its new flagman 4G compatible device, Motorola Photon, also known as Droid X2.

Motorola Photon 4G features NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip with 1 GHz, a 4.3” 540x960 screen and 8 megapixel front camera with 720p video recording. Besides, the device is equipped with 16 GB built-in storage, 1 GB RAM and a SD slot for up to 32 GB cards.

Google and Sprint announce integration to make mobile service cheaper

Google has found at least its partner to make Google Voice service working on a large mobile network. The company has partnered with Sprint to integrate mobile phones with the Internet telephony to let users attach a single number to multiple phones and further turn voicemail messages into emails, send free texts, make free domestic calls, and dial international numbers at lower prices.

Yahoo partners with Sprint and T-Mobile to expand into Android market

Yahoo is making its way to the Android market through the partnership with Sprint and T-Mobile. The Internet company announced the agreements to make its products and services more accessible to users of certain Android devices.

Yahoo explained on the Yodel Anecdotal blog: "We announced an extended partnership with Sprint around Sprint ID - providing Sprint customers with a Yahoo! ID pack of services, including 1-click access to 12 different Yahoo! Android apps."

Microsoft promises the next month debut of its Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system to take place on AT&T and/or T-Mobile handsets.


As it was reported, Windows Phone 7, the stylish successor to Redmond's aging Windows Mobile platform, will initially appear on GSM cellular networks, which in the US means just AT&T and T-Mobile.

Speculations continue roaming in the media that Apple iPhone could come to Sprint or T-Mobile sooner that to Verizon. In a note to clients, Kaufman Bros. analyst Shaw Wu told clients that Apple and Verizon Wireless are still negotiating important details for the iPhone, "including technology and economics," Fortune reports. Wu wouldn't rule out the possibility of Sprint or T-Mobile getting the iPhone instead of, or in addition to, Verizon.

American Express Company has announced the names of new executive and Board of Directors. According to the company’s statement Daniel H. Schulman, previously worked as President of Sprint's Prepaid group will become a President of the newly-created Enterprise Growth Group. Also AmEx has appointed Ted Leonsis, a Chairman of Revolution Money and AOL, to its Board of Directors and named him Chairman of a new Innovation and Technology Committee of the Board.
