Australian government is introducing an Internet filter to block, as it claims, obscene and crime-linked Web sites, which is questioned by the privacy protection groups who are concerned that the move could lead to hidden censorship and freedoms violation.

Adopting a mandatory screening system would make Australia one of the strictest Internet regulators among the world's democracies.
