Russians have purchased their beloved ICQ after all

AOL has at last sold ICQ instant messenger company to Russian investors for $187.5 million. The transaction was reported by Digital Sky Technologies, an investment group backed by Yuri Milner, a media baron, and Alisher Usmanov, Uzbek commodities tycoon who owns a large stake in Arsenal FC.

While the popularity of the instant messenger has declined in the Western countries it remained strong and even increased in Israel, where it was developed, and former Soviet countries.

Half of photos taken by Europeans are finally posted online

The Nikon poll of 12,259 people in 12 European countries found that about half of all the photographs European people take are finally posted online. The survey revealed that among those who like to shoot themselves Russians are the most excited overtaking a little Austrians.

The poll shows that Britons are less inclined to display themselves with only 33% their snaps posted and only 5.6% of them take self-portraits. In comparison, 34.2 of Russian people take pictures of themselves with Austrians falling back on 24.9%.
