Twitter is conducting internal trials of the Push Notifications feature for the iPhone version, as reported by MG Siegler in the posting on TechCrunch. The feature was noticed when the latest version of the application went out. Users who have iOS 4.1 installed, get the option to enable Push Notifications for Twitter. While the feature is not working yet it is there.

Twitter made the following statement on the matter:

Google has introduced its latest free Google Mobile App for iPhones. Now users can receive push notifications from their Google accounts right on their iPhones.

The latest app update features an icon badge that shows you've got new mail in Gmail, and Google Calendar event reminders will pop up right on your home screen.

Besides, Google also added a new search functionality: now searching for something like weather, stock quotes, or currency conversion, likely answers will be displayed before you even hit 'Search'.
