For the first time in three years of its existence the popular video game console Sony PlayStation 3 was hacked by the same hacker who was the first to successfully jailbreak the iPhone.

The hack by 20-year-old George Hotz, aka geohot, significantly expands the functionality of the box by allowing it to run unrestricted versions of Linux and a wide range of games that are currently forbidden. The hardware and software designer told it took him five weeks to develop the hack using a combination of modifications to the console's hardware and software.

 Sony Ericsson has released long waited mobile phone that is the first of the kind as it will control the PlayStation 3. The price of the device will surely be affordable not for everyone as it is higher than the cost of the video game console itself.

Aino that was for the first time revealed in May allows players to remotely turn the PS3 on or off, browse the XMB user interface, access DRM-free content stored on the console’s hard drive, and shop for items in the PS3 store. The phone also works with Remote Play according to SE statement.
