Hypercom Corporation announced that Avant-Garde Marketing Solutions has selected its Optimum M4230 multi-application mobile payment terminal and Mobile Network service. Avant-Garde also will be marketing these solutions to its thousands of merchant customers nationwide.

Avant-Garde will be marketing the M4230 mobile terminal along with Hypercom’s Mobile Network as an affordable bundled solution that increases businesses’ revenue by enabling them to extend their payment acceptance reach beyond fixed locations.

A provider of electronic commerce and payment processing solutions First Data Corporation reported that its business in Poland called Polcard has established a long-term relationship with Media Markt. Under the terms of their partnership First Data has installed 300 terminals at 41 Media Markt stores across Poland and will provide card processing and technical support services.

Barclaycard has demonstrated its new application that turns smartphones into a chip and PIN payment terminal. The solution targets small businesses like plumbers, electricians and market traders. The system will be piloted in the second half of 2010 before the Christmas period.

 Oberthur Technologies' contactless sticker product, FlyBuy Sticker, has been granted type approval by Discover Financial Services, a leading U.S. credit card issuer and global electronic payment services company. Discover's type approval process ensures that the Discover Zip contactless payment application properly operates on the FlyBuy Sticker and that it is also interoperable with Discover-certified payment terminals.
