WorldPay launched a new mobile reseller program based on CellPoint Mobile's mobile payment solution mPoint. Now with the new program WorldPay can process any type of mobile transactions such as remote mobile payments, proximity, online and Point of Sale transactions.

By means of CellPoint Mobile's mPoint® mobile payment solution WorldPay can adjust its product specifically for seamless mobile payment services for the retail and transport industries.

A digital security solutions provider Gemalto has partnered with Zimbabwe’s network operator NetOne to enable underbanked consumers to initiate mobile money transfers. NetOne will deploy Gemalto’s LinqUs solution for Mobile Money Transfer, which comprises of the server, user application, as well as system integration services.

A mobile payment provider Obopay added new functionality for its Mobile Money for Banks offering, broadening the scope of mobile transaction capabilities for banks and their customers.

MasterCard Worldwide has launched its MasterCard MoneySend service for BlackBerry Smartphones, a convenient way to transfer money in the United States from person-to-person easily and securely by combining the power of a mobile device with a banking relationship. Security concerns do not prevent Americans from using mobile phones to make payments. A new survey from Sterling Commerce and Demandware reveals that 15% of US consumers have used their cellphones to make purchases. The survey polled 36000 US consumers. It found that 96% own a mobile device and just under half a smartphone.

Over 60% of the polled admit that being able to use their mobile phone while shopping to verify product availability at a particular store location is important to very important.

On Monday the Wall Street Journal reported a glitch in the mobile banking app provided by Citi for iPhones which makes the sensitive information to be stored on the devices or PCs. After this report Citigroup Inc provided a statement where it said that the glitch had been fixed.

Citi spokeswoman Natalie Riper said on Monday its U.S. Citi Mobile iPhone banking program may have also saved account information on personal computers that customers hooked up to their phones.
