WikiLeaks poses an example of true media which now speaks government lies

The case of WikiLeaks shows that the traditional media has deviated from its true mission and instead of bringing the facts to the audience it relies heavily on official source, on the point of view of governments, while it should instead be less dependent on such, thinks award-winning journalist John Pilger.

Discussing his film "The War You Don't See," the veteran Australian reporter told Reuters the Internet, and more specifically WikiLeaks, would bring about a "revolution" in journalism which too often failed to do its job properly.

Forbes are no longer CEOs of Forbes Media

Steve and Tim Forbes are leaving their executive positions at Forbes Media ceding the place to the media veteran Mike Perlis who was named president and chief executive officer of Forbes Media. Steve Forbes had been CEO of the company and Tim Forbes was the chief operating officer.

While Steve Forbes will remain chairman and editor-in-chief of the privately held Forbes Media Tim Forbes will remain as chairman of Forbes Digital and will be a member of the company's board, but Perlis said he will no longer be COO and that no one will hold that title.

Internet users will publish their own magazines with Wikipedia content

 Wikipedia founder announced this week that he concluded an agreement with a computer maker HP to enable users to create and print magazines. Under this partnership users will be allowed to create and print their own magazines using Wiki content. The main idea behind the project is to personalize the wealth of information on the Internet.

"We are doing all kinds of things like that to think about ways to sustain this idea of participatory culture," said Jimmy Wales, founder of the user-edited Wikipedia.
