Apple iOS features a critical flaw that allows to get control of the device

A bug was disclosed in Apple’s software that could be exploited by criminals to gain control over iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices.

On Wednesday the website www.jailbreakme.com released code that Apple customers can use to modify the iOS operating system through jaibreaking. Many Apple customers jailbreak their devices so that they could download and run applications that are not approved by Apple or use iPhone phones on networks of carriers that are not approved by Apple.

Apple patent will make jailbreaking illegal despite US legislation allows it

While it was recently found that jailbreaking of Apple products to allow users to run third-party unsigned code on their devices by unlocking the operating system does not violate copyright laws defined by the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act, new Apple patent application filed earlier this year may put an end to such practices.

On the surface the patent primarily protects users from theft, but the ‘secondary’ aim is to stamp out jailbreaking, despite the practice now legal under "fair use" in the US.

Adobe Flash comes on the iPad and later on the iPhone 4

A developer has found a way to use Flash on Apple devices starting from iPad. He has proven that Flash will work just fine on the iPad and iPhone, as long as you’re comfortable jailbreaking your device. While there will be problems as long as Flash is meant for the use with mouse it still can do pretty fine.

The developer created the application called Frash that will work in Safari Mobile through a compatibility layer. The program represents a port of the official Adobe Flash plug-in that is currently used by Android devices.

Google Android OS is pretty usable on iPhone: another jailbreaking

Last week there were some speculations about a possible hack that would allow installation of Google Android mobile OS on the Apple iPhone devices. While they were only rumors now people posted a video on YouTube that proves the theory in practice showing a 68-step guide on how to convert a second generation iPhone into an Android running smartphone.

The video shows that the hacked model can boot to either OS at startup. The person behind the video piece says that even if you install Android on the device iPhone can still run its own OS normally.
