As Motorola introduced a hardware eFuse protection that is meant to enforce software restrictions many websites started offering unofficial versions of Froyo updates for Droid X smartphones. Motorola, in turn sent them cease-and-desist letters urging them to discontinue encouraging users to jailbreak.

HTC Droid Incredible starts updating to Froyo Wednesday

According to reports by Mashable's Ben Parr who cited sources familiar with the matter, the update of HTC Droid Incredible to Android 2.2 otherwise known as the "Froyo" update, will begin hitting devices on Wednesday, August 18.

As a confirmation sources point to that Verizon employees have already been installing the update on their personal Incredible phones.

Froyo based Motorola Droid Shadow was found in Verizon gym

Gizmodo reported new rumors about the unreleased Motorola Droid Shadow which is suppoed to be a successor for the Motorola Droid. The new device was found in a corporate Verizon gym in Washington.

The tech blog reports that the phone was found by a gym employee who opened it to identify the owner. As he unlocked the phone he discovered a text message that said it was "unreleased."
