In the course of a recent research it was found that a bug in the Apple iTunes service allows third parties to access private information about users such as what music, videos and apps they have purchased from the store.

On Monday reports surfaced on the Internet about major security bug in iTunes accounts that allowed hackers to drain a lot of money from PayPal. However, in fact the complaints of the problem that was experienced by many iTunes customers has been submitted on the online forums since the beginning of August and even earlier.

Google has released a new application developed to search for vulnerabilities in the websites. An open source security scanner known as Skipfish was designed as "security reconnaissance tool". It generates an interactive map of an application based on checks for certain security flaws, involving everything from self-signed SSL certificates to server-side SQL and XML injection.

While the scanner performs a recursive crawl of a site, it can also probe a list of pre-defined links.

 SSL, or the Secure Sockets Layer system that is widely used to protect Web traffic against data theft was found vulnerable to hacking attacks. The system that is mainly used for online banking, shopping, and any other https connection appears to have a flaw that allows an attacker to break into any theoretically secured connection and add malicious commands.
