Do you know your 8 aged offspring has a Facebook profile?

A new study from communications regulator Ofcom shows that ¼ of children in the United Kingdom at the age of 8-12 surfing the Internet have their own profiles on Facebook, Bebo or MySpace while the minimum age for subscribing for these services is 13.

The study reveals that 2/5 of young users aged 8-11 and 12-15 believe that all or most of the information on these sites is true (38% and 40% respectively).

The research further shows that over the past year downloading or watching TV episodes or movies online by children aged 8-15 has grown by 4%.
