90% of young Britons turn to web seeking for help with personal problems

According to the survey conducted by Maximiles Surveys among 1,000 youngsters in Britain, young Britons are increasingly turning to the internet to look for help with personal problems instead of seeking advice from their parents or friends.

90% of youngsters aged under 25 responded for national free helpline Get Connected that they had used the Web targeting to seek for help in solving a personal problem.

According to the latest survey conducted by Lewis PR many Britons remain ultimately unaware of the essential hi-tech industry facts. Thus the research shows that 1 in 20 UK citizens believe Steve Jobs is a Division II footballer while 6% think a virtual hard disk (VHD) is a sexually transmitted disease. 10% of Britons think that a wireless dongle is a sex toy.

Lewis PR polled 1,000 Britons with the intent "to gauge the nation's level of technology knowledge."

 The government of the United Kingdom plans a new legislation that would require Internet service providers to retain and disclose data about instant messages, e-mail and other electronic communications. It states that the knowledge about the participants, timing and method of a communication -- but not its contents -- is vital in protecting the public from serious crime and terrorism.
