Facebook blocks users for pressing “Like” button

Business Insider reported this week that Mike Doughty from the band Soul Coughing had encountered a reprimand from Facebook for “liking” too many birthday wishes from his friends. He was shown the following message from the social networking website:

Block! You are engaging in behavior that may be considered annoying or abusive by other users.

You have been blocked from using the like feature because you repeatedly misused this feature.

How Facebook changes ‘Like’ and ‘Become a Fan’ buttons and why?

Social networking giant Facebook is changing its terminology in how people become fans of its Pages product. While some observers consider the move will result in confusing the words the company claims it worked successfully in pilot tests.

“People will soon connect with your Brand Pages by clicking ‘Like’ rather than ‘Become a Fan,” the company recently began telling advertising agencies about the change, according to Facebook documents obtained by ClickZ and MediaMemo.
