Start a new chapter of making money online with Facebook

Social networking sites are the new hi tech avenues for meeting people. Everybody is on a social networking site from the young to the old and from the normal working class man to Hollywood celebrities. You are simply not cool enough if you don’t have an online profile. People have found potential best friends, spouses, business partners and more through these social networking sites. It would be difficult for most teenagers to imagine life without social networking sites like Facebook. But did you know that a site like Facebook can be used for more than just casual unimpressive chit chat? More essentially did you know that you can actually make money online with Facebook? Let me tell you how.

There are several lucrative ways to use your popularity on Facebook for your benefit. The first one is to use Facebook to promote an existing business. If you have a product that you sell or a website that is related to your business you can use Facebook to increase the visibility of your business in the cyber world. Start by setting up a business account with Facebook even if you have a personal account this will be a good idea because t makes sense to have a separate profile to deal with work related activities.

The next step is to advertise the business or website you can do this by adding business logo and information about it in the profile section. You can also include a URL linking back to your site. Make sure that you add interests so that other Facebook users can find you and your business with ease. Always remember to use keyword rich language when adding interests

You can also add RSS feed. Just go to the “notes” section and click on application and perform the steps needed to add an RSS link. If your business involves selling products, you can sell them at the Marketplace, even if you are already selling them on your website this will increase visibility and make it easy for Facebook users to buy them. Also it is fairly simple because all you will need to do is add the same listing in Facebook as you have on your site. You can also include affiliate links here.

Another way to increase traffic to your site is linking to quality content. You can create pages and notes on the Facebook account that will link back to other websites with a high page rank which will increase your own rating with Google. Remember to maintain an active presence on Facebook, take the trouble of posting notes regularly.

There are many great groups on Facebook. If you join one of these groups and become a great member of the group then you can market to these people but just don't overdo it. You must be willing to add value before you try to make money from your connections.

If you join a group with other people then you are automatically associated with them. And if you provide great content to these people and become seen as an expert in that niche, then you can then begin to post links back to your site and you will get traffic to that site and you will make more sales because of it. In other words, you will earn money on Facebook.

There is also a potential to make money online from Facebook by creating widgets. These are Facebook user applications. If what you make is really good or can be used for the benefit of a certain type of business people will be more than willing to pay you for it. For instance, you can create an application like “The best movie” and you can allow other users to access it. You can easily add from a few hundred to a few million people who will then be able to view your product or service. Even though the money will not trickle in as easily as with paid advertising you can certainly make a decent amount through revenue sharing and pay per click.

If you have a business opportunity or product to offer, Game Applications on Facebook like Fish Wrangler are great ways to develop relationships with thousands of would be prospects. Then you simply approach this warm market after you have developed a rapport with them.

You can also link your Facebook page with affiliate programs on other sites. There are two ways to use this, If you are selling a product perhaps a book or CD on Amazon you can use the Amazon button to link people to the buy page of your product or you could use it with generic affiliate marketing programs that will pay you each time somebody clicks on an advertisement placed on your page.

Finally do not underestimate the importance of building a friends list on Facebook. After all the larger your friends group the greater will be your potential to make money through advertising your own business or somebody else’s.

Personalize your message when requesting Facebook friends. Mention the person's first name and a brief statement about you and you boost your chances of being accepted. And also seek people with the same interest. This may seem like a simple step, but many marketers fall into a trap of not targeting their audience.

Facebook also lets you post videos on your page. So, go get that new YouTube video you just uploaded and post it. However, let it be a slow release. You don't want to add all of your videos at once. Just do one every few days or so and the people who are interested will notice them.

Last but not least, stay away from ads. Don't put ads in your status updates. People tend to either delete the "friend" who always advertises or they put the person on ignore. If people are ignoring you, you're not going to make a connection.

Facebook is not only a fun site to be on but the fun can also be turned into a lucrative business opportunity with a little bit of skill and perseverance and of course you can make tons of friend on the way.
