Making money online by being a job recruiter

These are the days of the worst economic melt down ever witnessed by the world. When you hear of a company like GM declaring bankruptcy you know that the situation is not gong to dissipate easily. Joblessness rate is at an all time peak in most economies and people are trying in vain to look for jobs. Yet to say that there are absolutely no companies that are looking to hire people would be untrue. And all you have to do is open the website of a company and check their employment opportunities section or check out one of the job portals and the huge number of listings on it.

So if you are wondering what all of this has to do with you and online money making, here it goes. A fair amount of money can be made by introducing potential employee with employers in other words e-recruitment. If a person that you recommend gets selected you can make a good amount of money. The best thing to do would be to start with your friends who are looking for a job. The most important skill that you will need as a recruiter is understanding the requirements of the employers and learning to highlight the skill sets of the employees. So begin by collecting the resumes of your friends who are looking for a job.

Now a resume is the potential employee’s first point of contact with the organization an advertisement of sorts. This has to be appealing, impressive and honest. It should highlight all the essentials skills and the information that may be relevant to the employers. This is where many candidates go wrong. So you will have to learn the art of tweaking a resume if you are serious about this line of work.

There is wealth of information available on the topic online as well as in the form of books. If you are not particularly keen on putting in the effort to learn you can always avail the services of a professional resume writer but this will mean that you will have to invest money in the candidate which you may/may not be able to recover.

After you have the resume in place you can start looking for job opening. Usually you would do this in the reverse order that is to get the employers requirement first and then look for candidates but since you are online you can make money from both parties. There is no rule which says that you can only charge the employers you can also charge the employees once you manage to get them a job. Good sites to visit would be careerbuilder.com, career.com, billingualcareer.com and careersurf.com. Most employers do not mind dealing with recruiters.

But you will have to pose a good front. That would involve getting at least a landing page for yourself if not a website. You need to create a good impression with the employers if you want them to deal with you. You will also need to have some literature ready on the screening process that you follow to get the best candidates ready for them. The easiest way to get this information would be to visit the sites of other recruiters. Also, it would be a good choice to handle jobs related to industries that you have some basic knowledge about. This will also help to establish credibility in front of the client. This particularly hold true if you want to recruit for the IT or technical industry.

If you do manage to get one of your candidates recruited you can charge the company and the candidate a percentage of the salary starting at a minimum of 10%. However you need to be study the agreement if you sign any with the organization. Many companies will insert a clause that expressly states that if the candidate quits the job before a stipulated period you will have to recruit another candidate for free.

If you think you enjoy this line of work you can further your knowledge by getting a degree in HR management from an inline university. Also many universities offer part time HR management programs. This will be an additional feather in your cap and add more credential to your name.
