A press release should not exceed 3 pages. You will also need to include supporting information such as references etc. At the end of the release many clients would like to you to insert a link back to the company’s homepage. 

 A good idea before you foray into the world of press release writing is to make a short portfolio of your work. This should include at least 3 or 4 samples of your work. You can gather the information and the basic format for your samples from the internet. The next step is to advertise yourself as a press release writer. There are two ways to do this you can write blogs or articles on this topic and insert links to your website in them. You could also register yourself with sites like elance.com, getafreelancer.com or scriptlance.com to find clients. It is important to have a good profile of your self if you want to attract clients on these sites 

 There are also many sites and e books on the internet which will teach you to write a good press release. You can also avail the services of a coach for a small fee if you feel that you need additional help. So if you always thought that you could write well, this can be a wonderful opportunity to indulge in your hobby and make a decent amount of money at the same time.
