Ecommerce Journal AWARDS. And the winners are:...
Yesterday we finally drew a line under the results of our voting. Actually when we just started our voting we thought that it will attract user’s attention however we didn’t except that the interest will be so hot. The first days the voting was very idle, however in a week after its start a real battle began. Sometimes the situation became very dramatic since the services were almost equal in popularity. Today we can give a straightforward and say that it was a fantastic fight, a fight of real giants of market. The active voting for the services presented in categories showed the real popularity of the companies and users appreciation of their services. Until the very last minutes we were not sure in the results of that battle. Situation changed every second granting each service a hope to obtain the Cup of the Ecommerce Journal and a prestigious title with the prefix “The best….” Despite the results we can say with full confidence that there were no losers in our nominations. Let’s say, some users of the services didn’t know about the presence of such voting otherwise they would support their favorite company and help it to rise to the peaks of the e-commerce industry.

Now let’s finally turn to the figures and compare them to the ones we recorded during our intermediate “canvass.” So, last time we have noted that in the category “Best Payment System of 2008” Russian WebMoney was leading with 31 per cent of preferences. Its nearest opponent Moneybookers has constantly at the back of the pack. The difference between two leaders was minimal and the positions were constantly changing. However during the lat days the difference started increasing and by the end of voting it has reached 17%! Though if someone was observing the voting results from the very beginning they could conform that in the very beginning the absolute leader in that category was Moneybookers with more that 10% advantage. Here a well-known saying comes to mind: mysterious are the ways of the Lord. So, let’s congratulate WebMoney!

The voting in the next category “Best debut 2008” has been even more exciting and reminded a basketball game. As the competing teams were Ecumoney and Perfect Money . The score was constantly changing. Sometimes the difference was too big up to 10% and it seemed that the leadership in this category is predetermined. But… Two days and oh! The leader lost its 10% advantage and moved to the second position! So, in the very beginning Perfect Money was an indubitable leader in this category. However in a week the situation changed and by the day of the intermediate results Ecumoney became a real favorite. And nobody doubted that the situation will hardly change, except the supporters of Perfect Money. They finally found strength and reached Ecumoney, however it appeared not an easy deal to fight with the NZ company. The system showed its nature and a strong will to stay #1. However, Perfect Money admirers had another plans and won by a head. With a result 51% Perfect Money won in this category. Our applause, Perfect Money!

In the category “Best Autoexchanger” the situation has also gone beyond control. So, Intexchange service has shifted Russian Wmirk from the first position to the second one, and became the best autoexchanger of the year. It is necessary to note that it was the only category where not two but tree services had a good chance to win. Nevertheless, according to the voting results we can say that Intexchange users are more active than the admirers of Wmirk and Superchange that allowed Intexchange to join our today’s heroes.

As we have noted last time in the category “Best Exchanger” the situation appeared to be stable. From the very first day and till the end Londongoldexchange.com bore the palm of supremacy. Neither Trainexservice.com nor Wm-Center was able to obtain the leadership at least for one moment. Bravo, Londongoldexchange ! Way to go!

The most unpleasant category was Failure of 2008 and we had to admit that here there was no struggle as well. There was a unanimous consent among the readers that the worst service which became a common disappointment was e-gold payment system. The disappointment of the users was so bitter that nobody doubted the final results. It is the only category there we will not congratulate the “winner.” We would like just to wish the system good luck in gaining its former popularity and we hope that next year the service will win in another category.

Summing up all the results we would like to congratulate all the winners with their brilliant victory and to wish those who failed to become the leaders to brace up and to win next year! Also we would like to thank our readers and all those who came to support their favorite service, to show their interest in the future of e-commerce and its development. We sincerely wish that this year will be more fruitful and bring the success all those who failed to gain it the last year. The development of the market participants is the only condition for development of the market itself. And we, common users of the services have those market participants to develop, hence we push the progress. Let’s continue to push that progress and enter a new era of e-commerce which we’ll create together! Thank you for being with us!
